Family: Body found at Oso slide was Steven Hadaway

OSO, Wash. -- The brother of a man who perished in the Oso mudslide has confirmed that his remains were located last week in the debris field.

The body of 53-year-old Steven Hadaway was discovered by a Snohomish County search and rescue sergeant who was on the field last Thursday, according to Hadaway's brother John.

The slide occurred on March 22 when a rain-soaked hillside above the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River gave way, obliterating a neighborhood in Oso.

The remains of 42 people have now been recovered. Authorities ended their active search efforts late last month, but work continues to rebuild State Route 530 through the area.

Forty-four year-old Kris Regelbrugge, whose husband also died in the slide, is the only victim who has yet to be located.
