A 50-year-old Everett man was crossing the road in the mid-block of 1700 Broadway Avenue just before 5 p.m. on March 31 when he was hit by a Toyota.
Police say the car didn't slow down on impact and didn't stop after the crash. The pedestrian was severely injured, breaking several bones in his lower body.
He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive.
Police believe the Toyota is a 1984-1988 pickup or 4Runner that sustained front-end damage in the crash. The passenger side orange blinker lens cover was damaged and the passenger side mirror was knocked off.
Based on the debris left at the scene and the injuries sustained, police believe the driver knew he hit someone.
Anyone with information about the crash or who may have been behind the wheel is asked to call the Everett Police Department tip line at (425) 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
