E. Wash. man, 42, convicted of sex with school girls
KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - A Prosser man accused of giving drugs to Kona-Benton High School girls for sex was convicted Thursday of child rape, communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and distributing a controlled substance to a minor with sexual motivation.
Forty-two-year-old Jonathan Kuhlman could face life in prison when he is sentenced July 10 in Benton County Superior Court.
Court records say he preyed on girls near the high school, giving them pot and alcohol to take advantage of them.
KEPR News reports Kuhlman has been out on bail awaiting trial. But now that he's convicted of multiple felony sex crimes, he was immediately taken into custody.
KVEW reports the stepdad of one of the victims says Kuhlman stood up and threatened the girls after his conviction, and they left the courtroom hysterical.
