Dump truck driver investigated for DUI after rollover crash

KENT, Wash. -- The driver of a dump truck is being investigated for driving under the influence after a roll-over crash in Kent Tuesday afternoon.

The truck was going east on Highway 18 when it smashed into 50 feet of guardrail just east of 256th Street, then rolled into Jenkins Creek, Kent Fire officials said.

The driver had just minor injuries and was able to escape the truck. He was later arrested for investigation of DUI, troopers said.

Some of the truck's fuel also spilled into the creek, Kent fire officials said, and the Department of Ecology was on the scene aiding with the cleanup efforts.
