Driver fatally struck while trying to put gas in disabled car on I-5
TACOMA, Wash. -- One person was fatally struck by a vehicle while tending to his disabled car along I-5 in Tacoma Wednesday night.
The car had run out of gas in the southbound lanes just south of the Tacoma Dome and was partially blocking the right lane, according to Trooper Brooke Bova.
The person was out filling the tank when they were struck.
The victim has not been identified.
"PLEASE Stay inside your car if you break down or crash on I5!" Bova tweeted.
