Cyclist injured after riding bike into parked Seattle police van

SEATTLE - A 27-year-old cyclist was injured Sunday night after she crashed her bike into a parked Seattle police van on Capitol Hill.

Police said the woman was riding her bike east on East Pine Street near 12th Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. when she slammed into the rear of a parked prisoner transport van in front of the East Precinct headquarters.

Medics responded and took the woman to Harborview Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The woman, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, is in stable condition.

Police haven't determined what caused the woman to ride into the van.
