Child with measles confirmed in Snohomish County

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. – A child visiting the U.S. as a part of a summer program has been confirmed to have a case of the measles, according to the Snohomish Health District.

Local public health officials confirmed the child’s infection late on Friday and have been monitoring members of the child’s family who were exposed and are considered nonimmune.

The child was a part of a larger group visiting different areas in Snohomish County. The Health District has been working with the child’s host family to determine the child’s activities over the last few weeks.

Public health officials warn residents with children who are unvaccinated to be aware of the risks. The child may have exposed others to measles at the following locations.

Walmart, 19191 N Kelsey St, Monroe during these times:

• June 20, 2018: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

McDonald’s, 19515 State Hwy 2, Monroe during these times:

• June 21, 2018: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Dairy Queen, 19510 State Hwy 2, Monroe during these times:

• June 21, 2018: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

YMCA, 14033 Fryelands Blvd, Monroe during these times:

• June 21, 2018: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, 1700 13th St, Everett during these times:

• June 22, 2018: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

• June 23, 2018: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Wendy’s, 2510 Broadway, Everett during these times:

• June 23, 2018: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
