Centralia police: Man arrested for assault with mashed potatoes

CENTRALIA, Wash. - A Centralia man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly threw mashed potatoes on another customer at a local restaurant, police said.

Officers responded to the scene, a restaurant in the 600 block of West Main Street, at about 4:50 p.m. after receiving a report of an assault.

Arriving at the scene, they arrested a 38-year-old man. He was booked into jail for investigation of fourth-degree assault.

It was not immediately known what led up to the alleged potato-throwing incident.
