Cars mangled, but no serious injuries in Hwy 2 crash

MONROE, Wash. -- Nobody was seriously injured in a violent three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near Monroe.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Highway 2 near Fryelands Blvd. It's unclear what triggered the wreck, but it ended with three mangled vehicles -- two trucks and a car -- blocking the entire roadway.

Washington State Patrol crews shut down both directions of the highway while workers cleared the scene.

Despite the severity of the crash, troopers say nobody was seriously injured.

Troopers expected the highway to remained closed to traffic until roughly 5:30 p.m.
