Bicyclist hit by car, seriously injured on Lacey I-5 on-ramp
LACEY, Wash. - A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a car along an Interstate 5 entrance ramp in Lacey, emergency personnel said.
Medics and police responded to the scene, the I-5 southbound on-ramp on Martin Way, at about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday after receiving reports of a car hitting a bike.
A seriously injured bicyclist was found at the scene and rushed to the hospital. No other information was immediately available about the victim's injuries or condition.
The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
The southbound I-5 on-ramp remains closed at the scene as police investigate. Traffic also was blocked on eastbound Martin Way, but that street has since reopend. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
