Bellevue man pleads guilty in Idaho reservoir death

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) - A 20-year-old central Idaho man has pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter for causing the death of another man last summer at Magic Reservoir.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports Steven Tyler Jameson of Bellevue entered his plea Monday for the June 2 death of 26-year-old Stephen Ray Franco.

Jameson admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and said he accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake as he was backing up, hitting Franco and knocking him off a cliff.

Jameson has been jailed since his arrest.

Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend Jameson be sentenced to four to 10 years in prison. The judge is not bound by the plea agreement when he sentences Jameson on June 3.
