Auburn officer hurt in crash with pickup truck

AUBURN, Wash. -- An Auburn police officer was injured in a crash with a pickup truck Friday night.

Investigators say the officer was responding to a call with lights and sirens blazing around 9:40 p.m. when his patrol car was T-boned by a pickup truck at the intersection of Auburn Way North and 15th Street NE.

The officer was taken to a Renton hospital, but is expected to be OK. His name has not been released.

The driver of the pickup truck has been taken into custody but officials said it was too early to say whether the driver was impaired.

Detectives are still investigating the crash.
