Arrests made in South Seattle jewelry store robbery

      SEATTLE -- Officers arrested two men in connection with the armed robbery of a South Seattle jewelry store after they were spotted in a neighborhood Safeway two miles from the robbery.

      According to the Seattle Police Department, the men robbed a jewelry store in the 6400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South on Wednesday, threatening a 62-year-old female employee at gunpoint in the process.

      Detectives spotted the two suspects, ages 19 and 26, at a Safeway in the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South on Thursday and arrested them.

      According to police, the men had two handguns on them at the time of their arrest.
