MEAD, Wash. -- An Amber Alert that was issued Tuesday evening for a toddler who was taken by her father near Spokane has been canceled.

The girl has been found safe, the Spokane County Sheriff's Office says.

Sixteen-month-old Summer Fechner was missing. Police thought she was with 37-year-old David Reed, her biological father who has a history of drug use and Bipolar activity, Spokane County Sheriff's officials said. Officers have not been able to reach Reed and are concerned for Summer's welfare.
