Air quality burn bans lifted in Snohomish, King, Pierce and Kitsap counties
WASH. STATE - Effective immediately, authorities are lifting air quality burn bans in Snohomish, King, Pierce and Kitsap Counties.
Winds overnight Friday shifted and brought cleaner air to the ground level throughout Puget Sound, Phil Swartzendruber with Puget Sound Clean Air Agency said.
Most of the area has returned to good or moderate air quality.
The agency notes that some localized air quality issues remain, including a wildfire burning near Darrington and smog in the Cascade foothills.
The improved conditions are expected to continue through the weekend and into next week, Swartzendruber said.
Authorities say they will continue to monitor air quality and will provide updates if needed.
