97-year-old Ford Model T found at Des Moines crash scene
DES MOINES, Wash. - A Monday morning drive in the April sunshine didn't turn out so well for the driver of a modified 1921 Ford Model T.
According to Sgt. Dave Mohr of the Des Moines police, the T-bucket style vehicle was heading south on Marine View Drive near Saltwater State Park at about 8 a.m. when it swerved, crashing into the guardrail and then into curbing for a bridge.
The 68-year-old driver and only occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt and sustained relatively minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital.
The Model T sustained front-end damage. It was towed from the scene. Police tweeted that "it may not survive."
