5 injured, 1 arrested in early morning crash in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE -- Five people were hospitalized with injuries and one driver was arrested following an early morning crash in downtown Seattle Sunday.

According to the Seattle Police Department, an SUV collided with a Ford truck around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Cherry Street and Fourth Avenue.

The driver of the SUV is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash, according to police. He was arrested and booked into King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault.

The two occupants of the truck and the three occupants of the SUV, including the arrested driver, were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of their injuries, none of which were considered life-threatening.
