3 men, 2 women arrested in Everett home invasion

EVERETT, Wash. - Three men and two women were arrested Sunday in connection with a home invasion robbery that happened only a few hours before in Everett, police said.

The incident unfolded at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday at an apartment unit in the 3200 block of 18th Street, said Sgt. Ryan Dalberg of the Everett police.

Three masked men forced their way into the apartment and began fighting with the man who lives there. During the fight, the apartment resident was able to rip the mask off one suspect and get a look at his face.

At about the same time, two women also entered and started stealing property and belongings from the apartment, Dalberg said.

The five suspects then fled from the scene with their loot, but the victim was able to get a look at the license plate of their car as they sped away.

He called Everett police, who traced the license plate to a Marysville address. The plate number was then turned over to Marysville police, who later spotted the car rolling down the street with the five suspects still inside.

The car was pulled over, the suspects were taken into custody and the victim's property was recovered, Dalberg said. Investigators are now questioning the suspects and wrapping up the case.

Police said there are indications that the victim knew one of the women, but their relationship is not clear at this time.

Dalberg said the case was quickly solved due to "excellent police work by both departments."

"It shows the cooperation we have with surrounding agencies," he said.
