3 injured in serious crash on Hwy. 169 outside Renton

RENTON, Wash. - Three people, including a young child, were injured Monday afternoon in a two-car crash outside Renton, the Washington State Patrol reports.

State troopers and medics responded to the scene, Highway 169 at 174th Avenue, just after noon after receiving a report of a serious accident.

Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, including an 18-month-old toddler. Their conditions were not immediately available.

A preliminary investigation found that the driver of a gray Honda veered from the southbound lanes into the northbound lanes and slammed into a tan Nissan Altima.

The State Patrol says the drivers of the vehicles showed no signs of intoxication.

Traffic is getting by as transportation crews alternate traffic around the accident scene.
