3 dead in crash on logging road near Oakville

OAKVILLE, Wash. -- Three people were killed in a crash on a remote logging road near Oakville in Grays Harbor County Saturday night.

The car went off Brooklyn Road and struck a tree near Garrard Creek Road, said Undersheriff Rick Scott with the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Department.

Three people inside the car, a 52-year-old male driver, a 26-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, a 49-year-old woman, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.

Investigators originally reported the woman had died overnight, but later updated their information that the woman was still alive and in stable condition.

Scott says alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
