3 arrested in connection with prostitution of 15-year-old girl
FIFE, Wash. -- Three people were arrested Wednesday after detectives discovered a 15-year-old Marysville girl high on drugs and likely being prostituted out of a Fife motel, according to the Fife Police Department.
According to police, officers stopped the teen for a pedestrian violation in the 3400 block of Pacific Highway East and found she was under the influence of narcotics. It turns out she had been missing from her home for five days.
After talking with the teen, detectives went to a nearby motel where the teen said she had been staying in two rooms with a pair of women and a man.
According to police, the women admitted to being prostitutes but denied knowing the teen's age. The man was uncooperative, reportedly denying knowing what was going on at the motel or with the women and teen despite being in one room and having a key to the other.
Search warrants turned up narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a computer detectives believe was being used to post prostitution ads online, according to police. Detectives think those ads includes ones for the teen.
The man was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail for investigation of promoting the sexual abuse of a minor and providing narcotics to a minor, in addition to other drug-related charges.
The two women were booked for investigation of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and prostitution-related charges.
The teen was released to her mother pending charges.
