2 hurt as pickup truck crashes into Bellevue hotel

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Two people were injured when a pickup truck crashed into the side of a Bellevue hotel Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened around noon at the Extended Stay America at 3700 132nd Ave. SE.

Bellevue police said the impact triggered a fire inside the vehicle and the side of the building. The driver was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of burns to his body. A second person who came to the aid of the driver was taken to Overlake Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

There is no word yet what led up to the accident.

It's the second accident involving a car into a Bellevue hotel in the past 24 hours. Wednesday night, an SUV drove through the front lobby of the Hyatt in Downtown Bellevue. No one was hurt in that incident.
