2 Boeing workers injured at Everett plant; 1 airlifted to hospital

EVERETT, Wash. -- Two workers at Boeing's Everett flight line were injured Thursday evening, and one of them needed to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

The contract employees, who have not been identified, were working at the Paine Field facility sometime before 6 p.m. when they were injured while working on an airplane, according to Boeing's Doug Alder.

One of the employees was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. The other was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital, according to Alder.

Alder did not say how the workers were hurt or release any other information about the incident.

"Our primary focus is the injured individual and their family. Boeing respects the privacy of its employees, its contractors and their families as they cope with this type of situation," Alder said in a statement released Thursday night.
