1 wounded in shooting at Bremerton Fred Meyer

BREMERTON, Wash. -- One person has been wounded in a shooting at a Fred Meyer store in Bremerton and the suspected shooter is in custody, Kitsap County dispatchers said.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. at the store in the 5000 block of Wheaton Way, dispatchers said. Video from Air 4 showed crime tape surrounding a few vehicles in the parking lot near the gas station.

The victim had been living out of his SUV and was shot once in the neck and once in the arm, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff's office. He was rushed to a local hospital but his condition is not known.

Sheriff's officials said the suspected shooter surrendered peacefully.
