Prosecutors say Taumeileli Mapusua and Jason Keum both work at the airport. Keum worked for Korean Air and Mapusua is a contractor for the airline through International Cargo Services.
The men got into an argument on Saturday morning about piece of work equipment. Prosecutors say the heated exchange turned violent when Mapusua slapped Keum in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete.
Keum was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but he later died.
After waiving his Miranda rights, Mapusua, a 27-year-old Federal Way resident, admitted to police that he hit Keum in the face, according to prosecutors. He was arrested and is now facing a second degree murder charge, according to probable cause documents.
Mapusua's bail was set at $1 million. He's due back in court on Wednesday.
