Apartment dweller dead after car crashes through wall

KENT, Wash. (KOMO) - A man was struck and killed by a car after it plowed through his Kent apartment while he was lying in bed Saturday night.

The crash happened around 6:22 p.m. at an apartment at SE 240th and 109th SE places.

When firefighters arrived, they found a small car had crashed through the exterior wall and was halfway inside the apartment.

Crews jacked the car up to get to the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials with the Kent Fire Department say two people in the car weren't injured in the crash. Names haven't been released.

Kent police said they will provide more details on what led up to the crash later in the week.

The identity of the victim and cause of death will be determined by a medical examiner.
