Officers responding to block party complaint join the fun: 'Well it was hot!'
ASHEVILLE, NC (WLOS) - Every year, the town of Oakley - near Asheville, North Carolina - celebrates the Fourth of July with a block party. But this year, not every neighbor was in a festive mood.
Police were called to address a man-made water slide erected close to the road. The 911 caller wasn't thrilled that the street was "blocked off" for the slide.
So after a quick check, a few eye-ball measurements and a warning about safety the officers determined the party could go on as is, but not before they themselves took a turn down the slide with the neighborhood kids.
A spokesman for the Asheville Police Department told WLOS-TV, "well it was hot!"
