Woman's body found in South Everett parking lot

EVERETT, Wash. - Authorities have launched a homicide investigation after a woman's body was found Saturday morning in a South Everett parking lot.

Deputies responded to the scene, the parking lot of La Palmera Family Mexican restaurant, in the 1600 block of Center Road, at about 6:45 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a person down, said Lt. Rob Palmer of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman's body at the scene.

Snohomish County's Major Crimes Unit was called to the scene to investigate, and the death is being treated as a homicide at this time, Palmer said.

The woman's identity, as well as the cause of death, will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office.

Palmer said investigators do not believe the incident poses any threat to the public.

"While the investigation is still in its earliest stages, we do not have concerns that there is any continuing danger to the public at this time," he said.

Palmer did not say whether any suspects have yet been identified in the woman's death.
