Woman suspected in Issaquah armed robbery arrested in Alaska

ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- The 19-year-old woman suspected in an attempted armed robbery in Issaquah was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Alaska on Thursday.

The woman allegedly tried to rob a convenience store March 10 in the 1400 block of Northwest Sammamish Road using what appeared to be a handgun and a knife. The store's clerk was able to knock both weapons out of the woman's hands, and she ran off, according to the Issaquah Police Department.

Police were able to identify the woman based on surveillance footage and tips from citizens, and an arrest warrant was issued for her March 15.

When it was discovered the woman had fled to Alaska, the case was turned over to the U.S. Marshal's Service, who arrested her more than 2,000 miles away in Kenai, Alaska.

She is being extradited back to Washington.
