Woman shot by Seattle police officer in North Seattle

SEATTLE -- A Seattle police officer shot and wounded a 19-year-old woman late Wednesday night on Aurora Avenue North.

It's unclear what sparked the shooting, but the woman was hit once in the leg, according to Kyle Moore with the Seattle Fire Department.

Police say the shooting took place in the area of North 125th Street and Aurora Avenue North.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

No officers were injured in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
