Woman jumped, beaten up by group while walking to boyfriend's

SEATTLE -- A woman heading to her boyfriend's home with a late-night snack was jumped and viciously beaten by a group of men and women early Sunday in the U-District, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the victim picked up food from Pizza Rigazzi on the Ave around 1 a.m. and was walking to her boyfriend's place nearby when she passed a group of apparently intoxicated men and women standing in the 1200 block of Northeast 52nd Street.

She later told officers one of the men bumped into her as she passed and told the group to get her purse.

The victim tried to keep walking, but one of the women grabbed her by the back of her hair and pulled at her purse, according to the report.

According to the report, the victim hit the would-be robber several times in the face and they fell to the ground, but a second woman came up behind her and punched her in the face, breaking her glasses.

As the victim tried to defend herself against the second woman, a third woman started pulling her hair and scratching her, according to the report.

The victim told officers the man who had originally said to get her purse told the women to get off of her and kicked her twice in the ribs.

The other men standing around kept telling the group to leave, which they eventually did, according to the report. As they were leaving, the victim said she heard one of the women complain that her face was "all [expletive] up." She told officers two of the women should have black eyes and bloody lips.

The victim told her boyfriend about the attack and was treated at the hospital but didn't report the incident to police until the next day.

When officers met up with her at her apartment, she had dark bruising and swelling to both eyes, scratches to her knees, hands, back, side and neck, and a dull pain in her ribs.

According to the report, the victim started to cry several times while describing the attack.
