Today: Free breakfast for furloughed, unemployed workers in Auburn

As politicos in the other Washington wring their hands over the government shutdown, federal employees here in the Evergreen State are faced with the reality of being out of work for the time being. To ease the pressure (and offer their thanks), two Seattle-area radio DJs are footing the breakfast bill.

This morning from 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., those who show their government I.D. will receive a free breakfast at Sun Break Caf in Auburn, located at 22 A Street Southwest, compliments of the Kent Phillips and Alan Budwill, hosts of STAR 101.5's Kent & Alan Morning Show.

"Furloughed and unemployed workers deserve a break at the Sunbreak," says Budwill.

Why the Sunbreak? Phillips explains, noting that "the Sunbreak Caf is perfect, because it's near a number of government offices and civilian government contract businesses."

Phillips and Budwill also extended the offer to those who are unemployed, generally.

The Sunbreak was also recently nominated for Best Breakfast in Western Washington by Kent & Alan Show listeners.

Jen Pirak, part of the STAR 101.5 Kent & Alan Morning Show will be on-site at the Sun Break Caf from 6 - 8:30 a.m. paying for the breakfasts.
