Fifteen-year-old Chloe Williams had just left the Golden Rule grocery store and was in a crosswalk on West Stewart Avenue last Thursday when she was hit by a full-sized SUV, according to Capt. Scott Engle with the Puyallup Police Department.
Police have surveillance video of the white SUV as it sped off after hitting Chloe.
Luke McAdams was nearby and able to help.
"She wasn't moving or responding at all, so I called 911," he said. "We said a prayer for her we just wanted to make sure she was in better hands."
The cuts and scrapes on Chloe's body are healing, and now she's asking the community for help to bring the driver who nearly killed her to justice.
"What would possess them to just drive away like that, knowing what they had just done," Chloe said. "The fact that they wont own up to it is really frustrating."
Chloe broke her right femur, fractured her pelvis and suffered a concussion when she was hit.
"It's just unimaginable how anybody can do that," said her grandmother, Gert.
Police are still searching for the driver, and Chloe said finding them will help bring her some emotional closure.
"Please come forward," she said. "I don't know how to put this, it's just, it would help a lot and it would be really satisfying if someone were to come forward."
Police say the white SUV that hit her has front end damage and possibly a dent on the hood. Anyone with information about the driver should call the police.
