Teen arrested in connection with Sammamish BB gun shooting

SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- Sammamish police arrested an 18-year-old man Tuesday in connection with a string of weekend BB gun shootings.

It was just around lunchtime when a Sunday drive along Sahalee Way became a shooting gallery as BBs struck at least two cars, including a van that had a window blown out.

One mom says she was driving her kids when a BB came through their open window. Tracey Kerlee had her two kids strapped in the back seat and was driving her son to football practice when someone fired a shot.

"It was just a loud boom," she said.

The back windows were rolled down and Kerlee believes the BB flew past her children's faces, hit something and started ricocheting inside the car.

Nobody was hurt in the shootings, and police caught up with the teenager thought to be the triggerman on Tuesday.

He allegedly told officers he took the BB guns from a friend's house while the friend was sleeping and used them for target practice.

The teen could face charges of reckless endangerment.
