Prosecutors believe 18-year-old Say Keodara shot and killed Victor Parker last September. He's also accused of seriously wounding three other young people in the shooting, which police say resulted from a botched robbery.
On the day of the attack, police received a call of shots fired at the corner of Rainier Avenue South and South McClellan Street. When they arrived, they found Parker dead of a gunshot to the head and three other homeless people wounded. One man had been shot twice in the chest, while a woman was shot in the thigh.
The survivors told police they were sitting in a bus shelter when a car stopped and someone inside asked if they wanted to buy cocaine, according to police. The car left the scene, but its three occupants returned on foot moments later.
One young man pulled a pistol and demanded that Parker and his associates hand over their money, according to charging documents. Keodara is alleged to have started shooting when one of the victims bolted.
Keodara is next due in court on August 30. He's currently being held on $1 million bail.
