Suspected DUI driver nearly hits road worker near Everett

EVERETT, Wash. -- State troopers have arrested a woman who was allegedly driving drunk and nearly hit a worker at a road project near Everett early Friday.

Washington State Patrol Sgt. Jason Knott said the worker was not seriously hurt in the 1:30 a.m. incident on Evergreen Way and Airport Road North near Everett.

According to a spokesperson for Northwest Construction, the worker saw the car coming at her and dove to get out of the way. She was not hit and received some minor bruising when she landed.

"It's kind of unbelievable, but she has minor to no injuries," Knott said.

The woman was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Knott said two troopers were at the scene and witnessed the crash near the intersection of Evergreen Way and Airport Road. They arrested the woman who was driving for investigation of DUI.
