Shoreline police: Body found in car is not a suspicious death

SHORELINE, Wash. - A body found in an abandoned car Wednesday morning does not appear to be a suspicious death, police said.

Officers say an alert neighbor spotted the car behind the Shoreline library on NE 174th Street and called it in. Police discovered a body inside the car and called in detectives.

The Medical Examiner's Office did a thorough examination of the scene and the person found in the car, and though deputies could not give an official declaration, they indicated that the death does not appear suspicious.

People headed to work Wednesday morning stopped to see what was happening - concerned that there was a crime scene - but it appears as though that is not the case.
