Seattle Parking Enforcement officer injured in scooter crash

SEATTLE -- A Seattle Parking Enforcement officer was injured Thursday afternoon when her scooter crashed into an SUV in the Central District.

Police say the officer was driving her three-wheeled parking enforcement scooter on 11th Avenue at 4:45 p.m. when she collided with a Nissan Pathfinder that was heading westbound on East Alder Street.

The impact overturned the scooter and left the officer and the SUV driver injured.

Both the officer and the man, who is believed to be in his 40s, were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

It's unclear who, if anyone, was at fault in the crash. Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives are investigating.
