Seattle Center for Wooden Boats adding museum

SEATTLE (AP) - The Center for Wooden Boats has announced plans for a $6.6 million education center at its location on south Lake Union in Seattle.

It will be a museum with a boat shop where old boats can be restored and new boats can be built to historic designs.

The center has more than 100,000 visitors a year, using small boats, and sailing and boatbuilding classes for a hands-on education in the city's maritime history.
