Forecasters say a half-inch to more than 2 inches of rain fell Monday night, adding to the 2 to 5 inches of rain that fell in the lowlands in the past week.
The soaking has increased the landslide risk level to moderate.
Overnight rain pummeled the Panaview neighborhood in Everett, where some homes have literally been falling down hillsides for years because of soft and saturated soil.
"We just don't know what the outcome is going to be," Karen Kinman said.
But the recent rain and the extra water isn't just affecting Everett. The National Weather Service had multiple landslide advisories in place, warning that loose soil could slide in places like Seattle, Tacoma, Bremerton and Everett.
Isolated landslides can be expected Tuesday and perhaps the rest of the week on steep slopes and bluffs.
