QFC robber located, arrested by police at Aurora motel

SEATTLE - The man suspected of stealing a shopping cart full of items on Christmas Eve was tracked down and arrested by officers on Friday.

Police say a man loaded a grocery cart with automotive products, left the QFC on Holman Road without paying, and used a knife to threaten a store employee in the parking lot on Dec. 24, 2013.

The store employee watched the man drive off in a maroon Toyota Camry, and was later able to identify the man through surveillance footage.

By Friday, officers of the North Anti Crime team found their suspect at the Rodeway Motel on Aurora Avenue North in Shoreline. The man is a former employee of QFC, having worked at another store in the Seattle area.

Officers arrested the man without incident, and he was booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery.
