Live Nation canceled the Fourth of July weekend leg of the Sasquatch! Music Festival, according to a Friday afternoon announcement.
However, the traditional Memorial Day weekend festival will continue as planned and passes are still for sale.
Sasquatch! typically takes place at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George every Memorial Day weekend, but extended the madness this year with a second round to take place in July.
It appears the July leg wasn't so popular a sale.
Though Live Nation had not responded to a request for a more detailed explanation late Friday afternoon, Live Nation Seattle President Jeff Trisler said in a statement:
"The Sasquatch! community has spoken. They continue to support the traditional Memorial Day Weekend event with great enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the second weekend was not embraced."
Ticketmaster will refund the credit cards used to buy Fourth of July weekend passes, Live Nation said.
Soundgarden was scheduled to headline the Fourth of July weekend. Some of the acts scheduled to perform that weekend will perform at other local venues, Live Nation said, though alternate plans have yet to be announced.
The Memorial Day weekend festival will still be headlined by Outkast.
