Police: Woman run over by carjacker
SEATTLE -- A woman was run over by her own car after a carjacker stole it out from under her Tuesday night in Wallingford, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to police, the victim was packing the car in preparation for a move around 8:40 p.m. near Second Avenue Northeast and Northeast 42nd Street when she heard her engine start.
A heavyset woman in a bright sweatshirt had climbed into the car and started it, possibly using a key she found on the ground nearby, according to police.
According to police, the victim banged on the hood and tried to hold on to her car but fell off and had her leg run over when the carjacker drove off.
Officers were unable to find the carjacker, and the victim was taken to the UW Medical Center for treatment.
The stolen car is a blue 2013 Subaru Outback with Alaska plate number GPQ783.AK. It was filled with electronics, credit cards, salmon and moose meat.
