Police: Woman found dead inside Everett apartment

EVERETT, Wash. -- Police say a woman was found dead inside an Everett apartment Friday afternoon, and they say the death is suspicious.

Someone called 911 at about 2:30 p.m. to complain about a door being open at an Everett apartment complex in the 8200 block of 5th Avenue West, according to police.

When officers arrived to do a welfare check, they spotted a dead woman alone inside the apartment. They secured the area and called in detectives from the department's major crimes unit to investigate.

Neighbors in the complex were shaken up by the news.

"It's scary because it happened right behind where I sleep," said Bobbie Dickerson. "I heard nothing, but I did notice some things behind my apartment that when I looked wasn't right."

Police have released little information about the incident, but they say the death is suspicious. The woman has not been identified, and police will only say she was an adult.
