Police: Two more lewd incidents reported in West Seattle

SEATTLE -- Seattle police are investigating a pair of lewd incidents reported Tuesday in West Seattle, but they don't yet know if the crimes are connected to a string of earlier flashings.

Officers were first called to the Westside School at 2 p.m. after getting reports of a flasher. The caller said an hour earlier a man driving a black four-door Saturn pulled up to a a group of kids near the school. The man got out of the car and exposed himself to the kids, according to police. The sedan had silver rims and a baby seat in the back.

Police say the flasher, who is described as a bearded white man in his 30s, got back into his car and drove away.

Officers were called again at 3:20 p.m. after a young girl saw a man masturbating in his car in the 4000 block of 44th Avenue SW.

The 13-year-old girl said she was three blocks south of an LDS church when she noticed the man, who she said was watching children. She said he was a heavy-set white man in his 30s who was wearing glasses and a blue t-shirt. He was driving a black 4-door sedan.

Police have yet to determine if the two crimes were committed by the same man. Detectives were already investigating the attempted luring of a 10-year-old girl outside a West Seattle school earlier this month. That investigation came after three reports of a man exposing himself to children at nearby schools last month.

In September, a man was reported exposing himself to students from his car parked outside Holy Rosary School in two separate incidents. A man was also reported exposing himself to a 7-year-old girl from his car parked outside Westside School.
