Police: Single gunshot injures three women in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. -- Police say a single bullet injured three women Tuesday night in Tacoma.

A woman called police just before 7 p.m. to say a gun had gone off inside her car, according to Loretta Cool with the Tacoma Police Department.

The woman, who was inside the car with two female friends, was shot in the hand. Cool said the same bullet then grazed the back of the second woman and continued into the stomach of the third.

The women, all in their 20s, were taken to a local hospital to be treated.

The shooter and the woman hit in the back are expected to fine, but the condition of the woman hit in the stomach is unknown.

Cool said it appears the shooting was accidental, but the shooter could still face charges.
