Federal Way police first received calls about a shooting Thursday night in the 31500 block of 1st Avenue South. They didn't find a victim, but less than a half-hour later an 18-year-old man was dropped off at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way with gunshot wounds.
That man, who has not been identified, did not survive, according to police.
Early Friday morning, police arrested two men and a woman in Tacoma in connection with the shooting. Using information from two of those three people, along with information gathered throughout the night, police identified the man thought to have pulled the trigger.
Just after 6 p.m., members of the Valley SWAT Team and Federal Way detectives found the suspect in a parking lot near the 1400 Block of South 320th Street. The suspect, who has only been identified as a 35-year-old from Renton, tried to run and was shot at least once by police.
The man was Harborview Medical Center for treatment, put police do not believe his injuries are life threatening.
Two officers, one from the Federal Way Police Department and one from the Renton Police Department have been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard in any officer-involved shooting.
Both the homicide investigation and the officer-involved shooting investigation are ongoing, according to Federal Way police.
