The robber, who's described as a white man in his 40s, walked into an Umpqua Bank on Broadway just after 5 p.m. and handed the teller a note saying he had a gun and he wanted money, according to police.
The teller handed over an unspecified amount of cash and the robber took off on foot. Nobody was injured and it's unclear if he actually had a gun.
Officers arrived on scene moments later and began searching the area, but the robber got away.
Police say the man has a goatee and was wearing sunglasses and a black ball cap with a light colored W on the front. He was also wearing a red hoodie underneath a tan jacket, khaki pants, black shoes and black gloves.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the police.
