Police looking for man who raped homeless woman in SoDo
SEATTLE -- Police are looking for the man who attacked and raped a homeless woman while she slept in her makeshit tent Friday morning at a campsite in SoDo.
According to the Seattle Police Department, the victim usually shares the camp with a male friend but was alone around 2 a.m. Friday. She told officers a man entered her tent, held her down, assaulted her and raped her.
The victim contacted a passerby around 5:30 a.m. near Fourth Avenue South and South Royal Brougham Way, and the passerby sent her to the nearby Metro Supervisor, who called 911.
Officers arrived to find the woman with swelling and lacerations to her face, bruising to the back of her head and sore ribs. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The victim described her attacker as a black man, approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall, with balding gray hair and protruding eyes. He was wearing blue jean shorts, a red Nike belt with an N on the buckle and red Nike shoes.
Police are also looking for the Good Samaritan originally stopped by the victim.
