Police dog nabs gunman suspected in double shooting

TUKWILA, Wash. -- A triple shooting ended with a manhunt and the capture of an armed suspect early Monday morning in Tukwila.

A gunman burst into an apartment in the 15800 block of 39th Place S. around 1:25 a.m. and was confronted by a man and his adult son, said Cmd. Eric Drever with Tukwila police.

During the struggle, the gunman shot both men -- one in the chest and one in the leg. The gunman was also wounded, but police haven't said if he was shot by his own weapon or if there was a second gun.

The gunman ran from the house, but was eventually tracked down by a police dog and arrested.

All three men were taken to a local hospital for treatment of what Drever said were non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
